Levi’s® x BE@RBRICK: When Production Power Meets a Collectible Collaboration

IRON built the retail toolkit behind Levi’s® collaboration with BE@RBRICK, the Japanese collectible figure brand, translating a heritage-driven design system across multiple Levi’s® touchpoints. It’s proof that IRON’s production model isn’t only built around apparel—it’s built around the brand, and whatever shape that brand takes next.

The Challenge

Levi’s® collaborations usually move down a well-worn path: apparel, denim-forward storytelling, fashion partners built for clothing. BE@RBRICK presented a new path. Since launching the line in 2001, BE@RBRICK has built a devoted following in designer toy and resale culture, as well as an audience that shows up for drops and chases collectibility rather than fit and fabric. Partnering with them meant IRON was stepping into a category it had never built a Levi’s® toolkit for: a limited run of vinyl figures instead of a garment.

The lineup itself was a flex. Three collectible tiers, topped by a 1000% figure priced at $1,200 and rounded out by a $185 three-piece set pairing a 400% figure with two 100% variants, each needed to feel unmistakably like a Levi’s® release without a single stitch of actual denim. The thread tying it all together was pure archive: 1940s banner prints pulled straight from the Levi’s® Archive and splashed across the figures as bold, all-over print.

The Approach

IRON’s job wasn’t to reinvent Levi’s® brand system for a new audience. It was to prove the one that already exists could hold up under a wildly different set of constraints. That meant carrying the archival print concept, and the messaging built around it, with total consistency across every format the drop would touch: a flagship product page, a mobile push notification, an in-app editorial module, a social post, physical retail signage. None of those formats share a layout, a dimension, or even a read time. Every one of them still had to feel like the same brand, telling the same story, with the same energy.

The Execution

The toolkit spanned the full range of Levi’s® owned channels:

  • Levi.com. A primary homepage placement, a 50/50 homepage module, a dedicated launch email, and a supporting blog post, each built to carry the archival print concept and the product story (sizing, pricing, the Eureka Innovation Lab detail behind the 1000% figure’s mini-selvedge 501 jeans) at a different level of depth.
  • Levi’s® App. A discover card, scrolling editorial placement, push notification, and inbox message, each built to hit fast and land clean in a mobile-native format without losing a shred of the campaign’s visual identity.
  • Social. Two posts built to work as standalone entry points for an audience that may have discovered Levi’s® through BE@RBRICK first, not the other way around.
  • In-store and physical toolkit. Signage and physical materials built to carry the same energy off the screen and onto the shelf, where collectors would actually be standing in front of the product.

Every asset had to hit the same note: heritage print, collectible thrill, culture-meets-culture. Whether it was rendering on a 6-inch screen or a store wall, the system had to feel just as sharp.

The Takeaway

The win here wasn’t a metric. It was proof of range. The hardest part of this project wasn’t any single deliverable, it was making a brand system built for clothing feel completely at home on a product with no clothing in it at all. That’s a more complex ask than a new campaign in a familiar category, and IRON’s toolkit delivered.

The Point of View

Projects like this are built on one conviction: brand consistency isn’t a category-specific skill. It’s a systems problem. When the product shifts from a garment to a 2.5-inch vinyl figure in a collector’s display case, the constant can’t be the asset type. It has to be the underlying design logic, sharp enough that the shift feels invisible to the person picking it up off the shelf.

Campaign Capabilities

IRON’s capabilities span the full breadth of retail marketing — from campaign strategy and creative production to ongoing content operations — giving brands one partner across every channel and touchpoint.

Retail Campaign Development

Enterprise retail companies need campaigns that work across dozens of channels, formats, and retail partners simultaneously. IRON develops integrated retail campaigns that give brands the creative assets they need to connect with their audience, from initial concept through final asset delivery across every touchpoint.

Retail Creative Operations

High-volume retail creative requires a production model built for scale. We help companies manage retail creative operations, delivering consistent, on-brand assets across every customer experience touchpoint. Our model is designed for brands that need to engage a large audience without sacrificing speed or quality.

The Power of Thinking Before You Build

The Levi’s® x BE@RBRICK collaboration didn’t ask IRON to write a new brand voice. It asked something harder: hold an existing one steady across a category with no playbook, no apparel touchpoints to lean on, and no room to treat the toy as the lesser format next to the jeans. That’s the difference between an agency that produces retail assets and one that owns the retail creative operations layer entirely, no matter what’s inside the box.
